慘遭斫伐年青樹

歲歲猶萌

念念初衷

寒來暑往頻如夢

幻影憧憧

逝水淙淙

一抹殘陽夕照紅

The young tree suffered ruthless blows of axe,

Yet year by year its new sprigs grow,

Its maiden vow fades not, though

In silent endurance of frost and snow.

Like dreams, winters and summers wheel in turn,

Fantasies in throngs come and go,

O time and tide do swiftly flow,

A streak of setting sun still burns aglow.
