《蠍蛇吟》– 邵雍

蛇毒遠於生，蠍毒近於死。
蛇蠍雖不同，其毒固無異。
蛇以首中人，蠍以尾用事。
奈何天地間，畏首又畏尾。

On Scorpion and Serpent by Shao Yong

Serpent’s venom sends life away,  

Scorpion’s venom draws death so nigh.

Though serpent differs from scorpion,

Their poison bids all souls goodbye.   

Serpent strikes its prey with its head,

Scorpion with its tail lets prey die.

Alas, betwixt heaven and earth,

All fear head and tail, none deny.
