青青園中葵，朝露待日晞。

陽春佈德澤，萬物生光輝。

常恐秋節至，焜黃華葉衰。

百川東到海，何時復西歸？

少壯不努力，老大徒傷悲！

The garden mallows greenly grow;

The dew awaits the sun to glow.

Spring sunshine doth all grace below,

Anon, all earthbound thrive and blow.

As autumn winds sweep forth as foe,

Oh, foliage wilts high and low.

Lo, myriad streams eastward flow,

When shall they ever westward go?

In youth, if lazy on thy hoe,

In age, in vain thou cry’st thy woe.
