Atop Panshan Peak by Qi Ji-guang
The woods wail bitterly as the frost-horn doth blare,
Clouds rise as though they ope the gate of peaks a-pair.
A-braving north-gale, coarse brew unmaketh my drunk,
Mid blown-about leaves countless homebound crows do fare.
O, could my halberds ever slay the feral foes,
I’d as lief guard the frontier, though snow-hued my hair.
Who’d have his name carved on the Dancing Sword Terrace —
As erst General Li, whose valour none compare?
