Excellent film presentation of a wonderful righting a horrendous wrong perpetrated on so many innocent good people. Ms. Altmann's  struggle to preserve the memories of her family heritage is a testament to the goodness of the best of mankind. Outstanding script and cinematography, superb cast and brilliant performances, costuming and score and sets were so perfect and stunning. Thank you for posting this film; a masterpiece of film making and a superlative gift to film buffs to enjoy forever.

What an amazing, heart wrenching movie. What the Nazi's did to the Jews during WWII was beyond evil and the shockwaves are still being felt across the world. It's infuriating when people today minimize the word "Nazi" by calling everyone a Nazi for nothing, for disagreeing with them. This is the new evil as it minimizes in the minds of current generations the atrocities that occurred during that time. We need to remember exactly what happened and how evil it was so it never happens again.

There’s a profound lesson in this film. Sin leads to cheap endings & eventually death. You see, at the start of the movie, she was in church and doing shows, full of light and life. At the end, she lay down with dogs & woke up with fleas.
 
I love that old movies just have a way of leaving you with something to think about. This here movie certainly left me with a couple of thoughts.
 
Could not like it. I don't like men who cheat on their wives. Old men who lust after girls more than half their age. And a man who slaps more than once the women he "loves."
